An Exclusive Appearance of Renowned Japanese Researcher Masaru Emoto
We are blessed with a bountiful supply
of clean water, but as the population increases, the demands
on this resource may impact its quality and availability.
We learned what you can do to preserve our water and see how
our thoughts and feelings affect physical reality. Masaru
Emoto shared his stunning water crystal photographs
and discussed his research as it applies to science and
education and to our own communities.
Percentage of proceeds went to Save Our Seas, a Kauai based organization dedicated to preserving, protecting and restoring the world's oceans for future generations.

African Harvest Help Benefit Concert
 The Harvest Help benefit was an incredible event. The music was awesome and the setting was magical. Listening to world class music with the stars shining in the sky was a definite treat. Blossoming Lotus served it up to over 300 people. The media reception was held at our VIP room. See more pictures below.
Established in 1985, Harvest Help provides practical support to communities in rural Africa, helping them to improve their livelihoods through sustainable farming and increased self-reliance. Robert Kai Irwin's Visit to Kauai
 We would like to thank Robert Kai Irwin and his family for an incredible day last Saturday. Robert is the Honorary Winner of "A Vegan World is Possible", our international essay contest, cosponsored with HappyCow.net.
Robert was the guest of honor at a media reception, meeting with distinguished members of the Kauai local media while snacking on Chef Patrick's delicious treats. We were all treated to a moving presentation of Roberts current projects which include introducing healthy, plant based whole foods into the school system and restoring the traditional Ancient Hawaiian diet.
After the presentation, Robert and his family were treated to an all you can eat feast at the Restaurant. Cherished memories indeed.
Robert and friends met up at ONE LOVE GARDENS where they received a private tour by Russel Brand, ONE LOVE owner. On the tour they were shown the abundance and beauty of one of the main farms that provide produce to the restaurant and juice bar. They learned about permaculture and organic farming methods used on the land.

The Lotus is proud to feature the work of Kauai resident artist L.J.C Shimoda from May 23- July 23rd. Please stop by the restaurant to see this incredible display of Contemporary Japanese brush art or 'Shodo'. Shodo is the "way of calligraphy," and has a long history in Asia. It is not only a form of traditional brush writing, it is also thought to function as a form of "moving meditation" and to enhance concentration, willpower, and composure.
